Advion X Interchim with North American headquarters in Ithaca, NY, designs, develops, and manufactures mass spectrometers, chip-based ion sources, and liquid chromatography – based separation systems for the life sciences and related industries.  We are the growing supplier of choice for our industrial and academic customers who are demanding accurate mass analysis, higher synthetic yields/throughput, natural product isolation and more productive research and scale-up.  We are currently seeking to fill the following position in Ithaca:

Associate Systems Test Engineer – Electrical

The Associate Systems Test Engineer shall provide electrical technical support for production as well as champion repair and testing of customer returned instruments.  A cross-discipline engineering skillset is required to champion items such as lean manufacturing, non-conforming systemic problems, EOL materials, field returns and new product transfer to manufacturing activities.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze data collected from field service and manufacturing to identify systemic issues and reports findings to sustaining engineering management.
  • Work with manufacturing personnel in troubleshooting, training, and helping to resolve manufacturing process, assembly and testing issues.
  • Analyze root cause issues as assigned by sustaining engineering management to improve yield, cost or efficiencies.
  • Identify, analyze, own, and drive technical issues to resolution for customer or service instrument returns.
  • Support purchasing with EOL and vendor technical issues.
  • Support product development process by creating work instructions and test procedures for new products being transferred to manufacturing.
  • Champion in non-conforming products which require troubleshooting.
  • Develop tooling, fixtures and automated testing (as applicable) for new and existing products and processes.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate’s degree (A.S.) in electronics or equivalent training is preferred and 5-10 years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
