In-process monitoring of oligonucleotides using the Touch Express™ Open Port Sampling Interface (OPSI) – expression® CMS

In this application note, we use the Advion Interchim Scientific^® Touch Express™ Open Port Sampling Interface–expression^® Compact Mass Spectrometer (OPSI-CMS) for the direct, rapid analysis of oligonucleotides without extensive sample preparation. As synthetic oligonucleotides become more complex, traditional methods like HPLC can be slow and labor-intensive, especially in high-throughput or in-process monitoring environments. The OPSI-CMS enables real-time detection and verification of oligos directly from complex matrices such as reaction mixtures or crude synthesis outputs, streamlining analytical workflows in both research and industrial settings.
